See you there!
Saturday 13th September 2025
Hey everyone, sorry we've been a bit quiet lately. We're still navigating Jools' recovery from her stroke in December 2024. It’s become clear that playing bass and singing lead vocals live is pretty tough for her right now.
So, we've decided to bring in a bass player to let Jools focus solely on singing. Meet Toby, a great guy who's been rushing to learn 75 songs in our style! He’s making good progress but gets a bit frustrated when he hits a tricky tune. Totally understandable—after all, the rest of us have been playing together for 15 years, so it’s a big challenge for someone new to jump in and learn our sets quickly!
We’re not exactly sure when Toby will be ready for his first live gig with us, but fingers crossed it’ll be by the end of the year if all goes well.
Stay tuned!
Thanks for sticking with us and remember to ‘Keep music live’
The Monmouth Ash Beer Festival
What a terrific time we had playing at tnis festival! The weathervwas atrocious but it didn't dampen the audiences spirits! Loys of dancing and singing!
Well done to the lovely Leah Wheeler for organising such a great event!
Thanks a lot Wonkers!
August!
In August we have two gigs, the first is on the 23rd at Central Bar in New Milton. It's always a fun packed night there and we love playing (apart from humping all the gear up and down the stairs!)
The second is on tge 30th at The Monmouth Ash Beer Festival! We're on stage for an hour from 7pm!
It would be fantastic to see you Wonkers at one or both of these gigs, if it wasn't for you lot we wouldn't be doing this!
Poole Harbour Festival apologies.
Hi everyone,
we'd like to say a big sorry to those who came to see us perform at Poole Harbour Festival on Saturday 26th July.
By now you will have realised we didn't play and we had a health emergency!
Jools is ok now, for those of you that didn't know, she had a serious stroke in December of last year and is still recovering from it. She has had a bit of a scare but after plenty of rest for 48 hours or so is feeling much better again.
She and we would like to thank all of those kind people that have wished her well and to the crowd who clapped the band when they were told what had happened.
Thank you all.
