Activity and stuff!
5th April 2023
Well, the band is going through a really difficult time at the moment. We have lots of gigs booked but our drummer, Kev, has been diagnosed with a mid ear infection and has to avoid loud noise! We have been extremely lucky to be able to call upon Paul Drayton and Danny Pearson to step in and help out and, up to now, there's only one gig we can't keep our commitment with.
I'm sure you'll all join us in wishing Kev a speedy resolution to his issue's and we hope to have him back thumping his tubs as soon as we can!
Thank You!!
Just a very quick message to all our followers and the venues that have supported us through 2022, thank you so very much, without uou we wouldn't be here.
May your Christmas be everything you wish for and may 2023 be both happy and prosperous for you all x
Keep Wonking
Saturday 23rd July 2022
Hi Donksters, Jools birthday bash tonight at Poole Hill Brewery, buffet from 7pm and music from 9pm! It's going to be a hot sweaty affair but I guarantee it'll be fun!!
The Lord Nelson 18th February
Hi fans, we're finally back at our 'home' venue for 2022! This is always loads of fun for us and we love playing here! A couple of tunes in the set some of you won't have heard!
Hope to see all the usual faces in the crowd! See you there!
Our next gig date!
We're at The Newtown on Friday 21st January. It's a lovely venue and the beer is cheap! It's a couple of quid on the door for non members!
Friday 26th November
Well, November has been a bit of a non-starter for us as we had to cancel 2 gigs due to our lead guitarist, Darren, testing positive for Covid. Crazy times but safety is always uppermost in our thoughts and we k ow we'll be back when he's finished his self isolation.
Our next gig is at a new venue for us, The Botany Bay Inne in Winterbourne Zelston. A good friend of ours has taken the pub over and we are delighted to be chosen as the first band to appear there. Let's hope this is the start of a long relationship for both us and the pub.
After that, we're playing at The Goat and Tricycle! Another new venue for us! We love playing at new places and it gives us the chance to present our music to different audiences and it's always exciting,
We're at The Lord Nelson on Boxing Day, always loads of fun there and our spiritual home!
Apart from the private party on New Year's eve that's it for us this year!
Let's hope 2022 is a better year for both venues and bands/artistes as this year has hit both hard with the pandemic!
Anyway, that's enough from me, we hope to bump into loads of you at a Wonky Donkeys gig soon.
Saturday October 23rd
Covid and After Covid!
Poole Hill Brewery
Well, after almost 6 months of not playing live we had an absolute blast at Poole Hill Brewery on 22nd May! Awesome crowd singing and fantastic fun!
A huge thanks to Jennifer Tingay for her hard work (all on her own that night) and continued support of our band and to all the other bands and artists she puts on, a credit to the live music scene!
Lots of fun!
26th February 2021
Well finally it looks like we might be getting back to playing live again! We've got one rate in our diary now!
30th August at The Lord Nelson as part of Teddy Rocks for Forest Holme.
It's a brilliant charity event and always has a great line up of bands, can't wait.
Meanwhile, we wait for the gigs to start coming in, fingers crossed!
January 22nd 2021
Well, it's been quite a while since we posted anything on here, we're hoping this Pandemic will bugger off soon so we can get back to what we enjoy doing the most.
Stay safe everyone, obey the rules and we'll see you all again as soon as we possibly can!
Keep Woking!
29th February 2020
Hi Donkey fans, just a quick few lines to keep you in your toes!
Nothing too each has happened lately in Wonkland but we've introduced a few new tunes in the set now, I've bought a new guitar (surprise I hear you say!) and the gigs are coming in slowly. We're playing at a couple of new (to us) venues soon, The Bell in Pokesdown and The Walker Arms in New Milton (formerly The Rydal Arms) and looking forward to introducing these venues to ourselves! I do hope some of the fan club can get out to these too!
We've been rebooked at The Old Thatch, that's brilliant news and we hope it's the start of some regular appearances there. It's a lovely pub and the food looked fantastic last time we were there, might have to try some very soon! We've also had a coup more dates at The Red Shoot in Linford!
Well, keep safe in these wild wet and windy times and hopefully we'll see some of you at a gig really soon. Tarra for now! (Paul)
2nd February 2020
